My Public Service Announcement for the Day

Has anyone heard of Create TV? If you have not, you must check it out! To sum it up, I would say it is Public Televison's version of round the clock DIY. They offer shows on cooking, arts and crafts, gardening, home improvement, and travel. To learn more, click here. Check out your local channel listing to see if it is offered in your area.

Since we are going to the Red Sox later today and that always includes a stop at Boston Beer Works I figured I would make a guest appearance on the treadmill. I really have to get better about exercise. When I used to live in the city I walked everywhere. In the suburbs I drive everywhere. No more walking to work, shopping, going out etc. I always feel better after exercising, but seriously I rather be cooking or baking!

We have a TV in our workout area in the basement, but I am too cheap to pay an additional $10/month for a cable box so I get the basic channels. I must say, though, I do get a fair amount of channels. This a.m. I got moving on the treadmill and flipped on the TV. A week or so ago (ugh, was that the last time I was down there??) I came across Create TV and they had old Julia Child's cooking shows on. I was able to catch a Baking with Julia episode. It was enjoying to watch Julia and her guest, Beatrice Ojakangas - an expert on Danish pastry, make some Danish treats. Today I watched Rick Bayless. He is a well known restaurant owner, chef, and, TV personality. Through all of these avenues he has introduced truly authentic Mexican cuisine to Americans. I learned today that he is the face behind Frontera salsa. I have purchased this salsa before at Whole Foods and for a store bought jar salsa give it a thumbs up. So, take a minute to check out Create TV! If you cannot find it on TV there sure is a lot of info on the website!

GO SOX!
