I also made this recipe using 2.88# beef round, bottom round roast. It came out perfectly, just like the photos. I used a probe thermometer with a cord connected to the thermometer so I didn't have to open the oven often, losing heat. The horseradish sauce was really good. Didn't change anything in the recipe.

I have never been successful with freezing dough and getting it to taste similar the second time. The dough does not cook evenly and is extremely dense and tasteless, I freeze it by rolling it into a ball and wrapping it in press & seal and then putting it into a ziploc freezer bag. Kat or followers, if you have any tips for freezing, please let me know!

Why do people make comments like viviane's " I think... ... ... (but) I have not tried it myself. I have made this pasta and many with eggs as well. they both work fine. This one is very white in color and easy to work with. The starch in the flour is very relaxed by the hot water. Give it a try it's great.

Kat, we couldn't have done it without wonderful volunteers like you and Michelle. We had a blast! People of all ages were decorating cookies and unleashing their inner artists. It was fun to "go big", but it's just as much fun to host a Drop In & Decorate in your own kitchen, with a few friends and a few dozen cookies. Anyone can do it!

I love your slide show!! I feel the same way about the challenges, At times I feel like I'm just making something to make something and not because I really want to. I just quit two of my baking groups for this reason. I'm sticking with the Daring Bakers for now (the only group I have left), since we usually do make things I have wanted to try to make (cannoli) and things that turn out so delicious (these bars!). Great use of The Flavor Bible to change these up a bit. Hope your cooking class is going well!
